Villa continued their incredible start to the season with a 5-2 victory away at Coventry.

James Collins (2), Daniel Bradley, Shane Lowry and Dominic Hofbauer were the scorers in the entertaining contest.

Collins opened the scoring on 10, after he smashed the ball into the top corner after a forceful run. Lowry extended the lead on the half hour mark, with a header from a Harry Forrester corner.

After the set-back of a Coventry goal, Villa again showed their ruthless side as Collins doubled his tally to put them 3-1 up.

The away side made it four on 73 minutes, as a Hofbauer cross wasn't cleared and Bradley forced the ball home from just inside the box.

The youth side scored again with eight minutes remaining, with Hofbauer the goal hero on this occasion from a Collins corner.

Coventry pulled one back in the last minute but it was purely consolation.

Kevin MacDonald said: "It was a good performance.

"There's still room for improvement though - we've played better this season."
