Reserve Team Coach
Kevin enjoyed great success as a player, winning the double with Liverpool in 1986. It is this 'winning mentality' which makes Kevin an admired and respected member of Martin OšNeill's backroom team.
MacDonald is currently reserve team coach at Villa and until October 2007 was assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland under Steve Staunton, who he used to coach at Villa Park.

Bryan JonesBRYAN JONES
Academy Director
Bryan has been Academy Director since 1997, although his stint with Villa has been considerably longer.
He became youth development officer in 1980, before a move to work at Birmingham City.
He returned to Villa Park in 1987 under Graham Taylor before again leaving the club under Ron Atkinson. He then rejoined under Brian Little.

Steve BurnsSTEVE BURNS
Assistant Academy Director

Steve has worked at Villa since 1988 and is now Assistant Academy Director.
He joined the club 18 years ago as a part-time coach before he went full-time in 1997.
He played for Walsall as a schoolboy and at amateur level from 1967-71 and then became a teacher, working at schools in the Birmingham area.

Tony McAndrewTONY McANDREW
Academy Coach
Tony is currently a youth team coach at Villa. A tough-tackling centre-half, McAndrew began his career at Middlesbrough, where he established himself at the heart of their defence.
He was captain and also scored the club's fastest-ever hat-trick while playing as an emergency striker.
He was at Ayresome Park for almost 10 years, before leaving for Chelsea after Middlesbrough's relegation from the Division One in 1982.
After his retirement, he moved into coaching under Brian Little at Darlington, Leicester City, Villa and Stoke City.

Gordon CowansGORDON COWANS
Academy Coach
Gordon is a legend at Villa Park. He will go down as one of the most skilful and enterprising midfielders in the history of the domestic game.
He was also an integral member of the League Championship and European Cup-winning sides, linking up supremely well with Dennis Mortimer and Des Bremner.
Popularly known as Sid - his second name - he joined Villa for the first time in 1984, moving to Italian club Bari a decade later.
After three seasons in Italy, he was brought back to Villa by Graham Taylor in 1988 - and returned yet again in 1993, this time after a spell with Blackburn Rovers.
He played 10 times for England and scored two goals. He is now a coach with the club's under-16 side.

Rafael GonzalezRAFAEL GONZALEZ
Academy Goalkeeping Coach
A former Spanish under-23 goalkeeper, Rafa played for a number of clubs during his nine years in La Liga, including Malaga, Real Oviedo and Sporting Gijon.
He also spent four years in Spainšs second division before finishing his playing career with Coventry City.
During his time at the Ricoh Stadium, he got to know Seamus McDonagh and it was McDonagh, now Villa's first team goalkeeping coach, who recommended him for the job of looking after the club's young keepers. After a trial period, he was appointed Academy goalkeeping coach at the start of 2007-08 campaign.

Paul BrackwellPAUL BRACKWELL
Head of Education and Welfare

Paul is in charge of guiding the young players when they are away from the football pitch.
He monitors schools and general welfare for nine-16-year-olds, accommodation and college courses for 16-19-year-olds and he is child protection officer for the Academy.
He has an excellent background in education, having spent 27 years as head of physical education at a Northamptonshire comprehensive school.
