Aston Villa completed the signing of striker Marlon Harewood from West Ham in the summer transfer window for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old was thought to be on the brink of joining Wigan, but instead agreed a three-year deal at Villa Park.
He scored 56 goals in 178 games for the Hammers after joining from Forest for £500,000 in November 2003.
The Hampstead-born striker was one of the successes of the Hammers' first season back in the top flight in 2005-06 when he scored 16 goals.
In all, he was on target 47 times for West Ham in 142 league games.
A product of Nottingham Forest's youth system, Marlon Harewood made his league debut for the City Ground outfit in 1998.
He made 124 league appearances for Forest, plus 58 as substitute, scoring 58 goals - including 21 in 2002-03 as he fired them to the play-offs.
