GabbyGabby Agbonlahor is taking nothing for granted as Villa head into this evening's Intertoto Cup clash with Danish side Odense BK.

The England Under-21 international saw enough in last week's 2-2 draw to know Lars Olsen's side will be no pushovers at Villa Park.

But he is determined to move a step closer to UEFA Cup qualification and believes playing on the European stage will help his continued development as a player.

Agbonlahor told www.avfc.co.uk: "It's good that we got the two away goals but this tie isn't over yet. We've still got it all to do at Villa Park and we can't be complacent.

"We've just got to show what we can do and then hopefully we'll have a bit too much for them. We're confident but we won't take anything for granted.

"They (Odense) have been back a lot longer than us and we've had to come back for pre-season a lot earlier than in the last couple of seasons. So we're still getting our match fitness.

"This evening's game is not really about how we play. It's about the result and if we have to grind out a result that's what we'll do. If we can get the performance as well that's a bonus."

On a personal note Agbonlahor added: "I've had two good seasons and I want to push on this season. I think European football will be that next step, so hopefully we can have a good run in Europe.

"We're ready to make that step as a team not just as individuals. The players who've been in Europe before want it again and the rest of us want it for the first time.

"You've got to keep challenging yourself as a player to keep progressing. The last two seasons have been decent and hopefully this season I can push on again.

"Playing in Europe means you're playing against different systems and players. You play against quality players in the Premier League but this is different.

"If I can play a bit in Europe this season it will hopefully help me stay in the England squad and hopefully I can win my first cap.

"The crowd can help by getting behind us from the start. We've only been back two or three weeks and we're still getting fit. So we need the fans behind us to help us get through the game."
