Fans Thank Olof

www.avfc.co.uk has been inundated with emails paying tribute to Olof Mellberg following his amazing farewell gesture at Upton Park yesterday.
As we reported in the build-up to Villa's 2-2 final day draw at West Ham, the Swedish international provided Villa shirts for every member of the 3,200 travelling army as he made his final appearance.
The Claret and Blue Army gave Mellberg a rousing send-off and our worldwide audience has been touched by the defender's generosity.
The following emails give a flavour of the reaction from Villa fans.
Pete Dobbs wrote: What a legend. For Olof to think so much of the fans is absolutely superb. He'll be welcome any time he returns to Villa Park.
Emma Jones wrote: I had heard rumours but didn't think any player would do something like this. So when I got to the game I was amazed. Olof will be a hero forever!
Mark Woodford wrote: I can't think of any other player who has ever done anything like this. That is the way to leave a club - with your head held high.
Andy B wrote: I hope when Olof comes back he joins the fans in the Holte End just like Ian Taylor does. A true Villa great and a man the supporters will never forget.
John Craggs wrote: I'm dumbstruck by Olof's class and his generosity. He's a Villa man for life and I'll be supporting Juventus next season. 'There's only one Olof Mellberg.'
