Get Inter Europe
Zat Knight aims to relive his youth if he can help Villa qualify for next season's UEFA Cup.
The lifelong Villa fan was a Holte Ender when Villa knocked the mighty Inter Milan out of the competition in 1994 - he even ran onto the pitch at the final whistle!
Now he aims to help Villa back into Europe - either directly into the UEFA Cup or via the Intertoto Cup -with a last day victory at West Ham.
The former Fulham man said: "I used to stand on the terraces and I remember beating Inter Milan down at Villa Park on penalties.
"Phil King got the vital penalty and he was a hero for a long time after that. It was massive to knock out Milan, who were one of the biggest clubs around.
"I remember at the final whistle running on the pitch when we won but don't tell the chairman that! I would have got banned if I did that today.
"I dreamed of playing in games like that especially for Aston Villa. I've always wanted to play for Aston Villa and to achieve the dream is a great feeling. To do it Europe would be something special."
The potential downside tomorrow is that Villa could miss out on Europe altogether and Knight knows that would be hard to take.
He added: "We've managed to take it down to the wire and I think we deserve to be in Europe. In many seasons, sixth place can get you in there automatically.
"We've been up there all season in the top six or seven of the Premier League and to let it go at the very last minute would be very disappointing. We just have to go about our job in the right way and hope events elsewhere end up in our favour.
"It looked all over after we had a few poor results in March but we have managed to turn it around although we had a bit of a blip (against Wigan).
"We need to go to West Ham and get a clean sheet because we think can score at the other end with the firepower we have at our disposal."
