Martin O'Neill remains confident he can attract top quality players to Villa Park this summer - even if Villa miss out on European football.

Villa go into the final game of the season at West Ham knowing that three points would guarantee a place in either the UEFA Cup or Intertoto Cup. Defeat could mean O'Neill's men miss out.

Whatever the outcome though O'Neill is convinced he can make quality additions to the squad ahead of the 2008-09 campaign.

He told www.avfc.co.uk: "Obviously being involved in Europe - even at Intertoto level - helps immensely. But in truth I've thought a lot about this and I think the Premier League itself is a massive lure for the continental players.

"Obviously it helps if there's European football and of course the ultimate is Champions League. But the Premier League and a side like ourselves with a reputation of being up and coming and attack minded should be enough of a draw."
