Kevin MacDonaldVilla reserves hope to end the season in style tonight when they travel to Liverpool for the Barclays Premier Reserve League Play-Off.

Kevin MacDonald's men go into the game as southern league champions while Liverpool were the runaway winners of the northern section.

For the Villa coach tonight's match represents a return to the club he served from 1984 to 89 and he told www.avfc.co.uk:"It'll be very nice to go back to Anfield, it's been a while since I've been there.

"We're obviously going there to try and win a football match but when I get there it will bring back some great memories. It will also be great to meet up with some of the people who are still there from when I was there.

"It will be a tough game. They've done very well in the FA Youth Cup in the last couple of years and this year they've brought that group through now into the reserves.

"I think they've only lost one game all season, so it will be a very, very tough game. It looks like their youth set-up is on the up and up - hopefully a bit like ourselves."
