The Claret and Blue Army has spoken and this giant flag will soon be raised proudly by the Holte End on matchdays.

The flag will be unfurled later this season after the club responded to a growing number of requests for the introduction of a giant flag.

Almost 4,000 of you completed an in-depth survey, selecting from a shortlist of concepts produced in consultation with a small number of fans.

The flag will be unveiled later this season and will be passed above heads as the players emerge from the tunnel. It will alternate between the Upper and Lower Holte End.

The club will be funding the production of the banner to help fans raise the roof and build on the already fantastic matchday atmosphere.

Marketing Executive Dan Meredith told www.avfc.co.uk: "There has been a lot of interest in this project and we are delighted to announce the winner. "

A staggering 95 per cent of fans who completed the survey insisted they wanted a giant flag on a matchday.

"We now hope fans are looking forward to raising the banner proudly. Villa Park match atmospheres have been fantastic this season and this should really help to ensure an inspirational backdrop for each kick off."
